The Hip Replacements are comprised of seven veteran and talented musicians that have been playing around Columbus for many years. James ‘JT’ Toland fronts the band with his amazingly strong vocals. The horn section is Bob Larson on trumpet and Steve Powell on sax, both who have long played in the big bands around town, as well as the Hips. Colin MacQueen stuns the crowd with his intricate guitar solos. Bruce Burton plays a mean bass as well as some mean vocals. The drummer, Joel Steward, is rock solid and well-respected in Columbus music circles. Chris Baker rounds it all out with his good keyboard work. The Hips are known mostly for Motown, Chicago, and Steely Dan covers, as well as some well-known, yet not often played R&B and Classic Rock. You won’t be disappointed, for sure.
