Diagnosed with autism at the age of four, Zayne Harshaw taught himself to play the acoustic, electric and bass guitars at the age of 14. His scorching guitar skills has taken him to perform for audiences in San Antonio, TX; Pittsburgh, PA; Bethesda, MD; Orlando, FL and music festivals and venues throughout Ohio. Blue Spectrum was founded in January 2013. The name Blue Spectrum acknowledges the wide spectrum of music the band enjoys playing and Zayne's favorite color. Smooth bassist, Alan "Uncle Al" Jefferson, adds bass and vocals. Hosea Hooks holds down the rhythmic percussion. International award-winning artist, Genene Blackwell, brings her amazing keyboard skills. Singer and songwriter, Eileen Motok, adds new dimensions with her high energy vocal performances. Together they share a deep love of performing and living the impassioned motto of Blue Spectrum: "Life is not to be viewed through the single lens of a diagnosis but to be lived through the Spectrum of potential, promise and purpose."
