Family Fun Zone

Family Fun Zone

Location: Veterans Memorial Park (73 W. Johnstown Rd.)

Note: Park in the shuttle lot located at Stygler Rd. and Route 62 (closest if traveling east from I-670) for shuttle drop-off/pick-up from the Family Fun Zone!


Hours: Sat. 2-7 pm and Sun. 12-4 pm

The Family Fun Zone features free kids’ activities, crafts and games.  Stop by Musical Discovery Zone Stage, where kids can participate in free, hands-on musical learning experiences that include workshops with local jazz and blues artists. Little ones can form their own "bands," learn about rhythms and homemade drums and more. Kids of all ages have the chance to interact with musicians from the Columbus Jazz Arts Group and the Columbus Blues Alliance as they discover the amazing world of rhythm and melody.  Visitors do not have to pay admission to the Festival to enjoy the activities in the Giant Eagle Family Fun Zone.

Saturday, June 17, 2-7 p.m.

  • Spend some time with friendly, funny and lovable animals provided by Jungle Island Petting Zoo
  • Take part in crafts by Kya’s Krusade
  • Experiment with musical instruments provided courtesy of Music Go Round
  • Join in sports demonstrations presented by i9 Sports
  • Challenge your skills with games and activities provided by the Gahanna Parks & Recreation Dept.
  • Get a new look with face painting provided by New Horizons Community Church
  • Discover the science of engineering through games and activities with Engineering For Kids
  • Enjoy creative play with activities provided by Gymboree
  • Take part in super hero crafts and games provided by Stonybrook United Methodist Church
  • Hop, skip and jump in the inflatable Bounce House and Obstacle Course

Musical Discovery Zone Stage (Presented by the Rotary Club of Gahanna)

  • 2-4 p.m. Interactive Jazz Workshop with Jazz4Kids (Lisa Clark, Erik Augis, Kris Keith, Jeff Bass and Jerry Powell)

Sunday, June 18, 12-4 p.m.

Amusement Rides

Amusement rides are also available throughout the weekend at VFW Park (south of Granville St.).  Wristbands are available for purchase in the amusement area. Ride hours: Friday, 5-11 pm; Saturday, 11 a.m.-11pm; Sunday, 12 – 6 p.m.

Cost:

  • Friday:  Ride All Day wristband:  $15
  • Saturday:  Ride All Day wristband:  $18
  • Sunday: Ride All Day wristband:  $15
  • Individual ride tickets:  $1 each or 12/$10 (Kids rides take 3 tickets. Adult rides require 4 tickets.)
